Meeting Minutes of 11 July 2002


Marlene opened the meeting at 7pm.

Unfinished Business
Approval of meeting minutes from last meeting - Motion for approval was made, seconded, and carried.

Treasurer's report - Balance sheet was distributed. There is a current balance of 
$2836.41 

Budget for 2002 - Marlene went over the budget. Marlene provided information on the amount of money allotted to categories such as office supplies, landscaping, entertainment etc.

Phone Directory - Marlene advised that a new directory would be available in the next few months. Marlene advised that the new directories would be in 3-ring binders, which would allow for easy updates and changes. Members present offered other solutions. It was decided and approved to continue with the 3-ring binder. Only paid members will receive these directories.

Committees' Reports
Landscaping - Flowerbed at entrance on Jones Maltsberger Road and Money Tree is almost complete and looks great.

Newsletter - Hope to have newsletter out by end of August.

Website - Robert S. advised that we are going ahead with the website and discussed a number of upgrades we will have use of. He is getting sponsors to assist with the cost of the web site. A signup sheet was passed around for members to give their e-mail address to Robert, if they want to receive emails from the website.

Social Committee - Reminder that there is a neighborhood garage sale on September 21, 2002.

Zoning/Covenants - No updates

New Business and Announcements

Newsletter and Flier Distribution - Marlene presented to the members options available to get the newsletters and fliers out to the neighborhood. Members also presented and discussed options. After much discussion it was motioned, seconded and approved for newsletters to be mailed and fliers to be distributed by block captains.

Miscellaneous Items

Neighborhood Night out is Tuesday, August 6th

Members present at the meeting asked about the following:

- What can be done about dog owners allowing their dogs to use the bathroom in yards? Marlene advised to call 311 to report city code compliance problems. It was also suggested to get video or pictures when this happens.

- What crime has been in the area? Marlene didn't have a recent report of neighborhood crime.
