Greetings neighbors!!
The following list is provided for your
information and actions as deemed appropriate. Please share with your
neighbors so they can be informed of the legislation that will affect them and
allow them the opportunity to have a say in the process.
All are encouraged to send emails, letters and
Faxes to our legislative delegation to express your support or opposition to
pending legislation. Being a silent majority does not get the job
done--participative democracy is the only way to move the process forward.
Warm regards,
Dominick

Subject: Current Legislation
Especially for the information of those of you who will be traveling to the Capitol, here is the current list of bills that support the TNT Legislative Package (Good Bills) and bills that the TNT Legislative Package directs us tooppose (Bad Bills). Good Bills HB 200 - Allow photographic enforcement to reduce red light running. HB 468 - Allow easier amendment of covenants for subdivisions not subject to chapters 201 and 204 of the Property Code. HB 600 - Homeowners insurance reform. (Note: TNT will support several but not all features of this bill or other insurance reform legislation that may be introduced.) HB 901- Allow photographic enforcement to reduce red light running. (This is similar to HB 200, except revenue above costs goes to the Texas Mobility Fund rather than local traffic safety programs.) SB 535 - Limited county authority to regulate residential land development outside city boundaries and within 50 miles of the Mexican border. Bad Bills HB 645 - Allow individual owners to violate covenants or rules if done so to conserve water. HB 789 - Exempt churches from obtaining plat approval from cities before getting a building permit. HB 844 - Allow individual owners to violate covenants or rules if done so in displaying a United States flag Bad Bill Coming Senator Lindsay of Houston is expected to file a bill this coming week which would regulate or restrict many homeowner association activities. Among a variety of things, the bill will address how associations collect dues and assessments, how they contract with attorneys, how they make records available to the public and open meeting requirements.
